It doesn't seem too long before we’re off on our whale watching, and we have to wade into the water to get on the boat, which is quite small, holding only about 12 people. As I mentioned back in Port Douglas, those of you who know me will be aware that I'm not overly enamoured with the idea of being in a small boat out on the open ocean, but the desire to do this outwieghs my fears..
After tracking down some take-away tucker we find a nice spot by the beach to eat it at, after which we drove up to the nearby Cape Byron Lighthouse. The building was impressive, and the 360 degree views up and down the coastline were even more so. The sun was setting now so we headed straight back to Deidre’s, as we were taking her out for dinner and didn’t want to be too late. We went to the Brunswick Hotel at Brunswick Heads, invited Julianne along too, and had a great evening, with it just about being warm enough for sitting outside. We really could so easily get used to this Aussie life style...!!!
