Luckily the room at the Ebor Falls Motel/Hotel had warmed up during the night, so a good night's sleep was had by all. We were up and out by nine o'clock, and drove all of two hundred metres to a little establishment named "Fusspots" for our breakfast. What a lovely quaint old place, and the tucker was pucker... sorry, I had to say that at sometime! This place just happened to be for sale, and it was all we could do not to put in an offer... very tempting indeed...!!! We now had another long drive ahead of us, made easier to take by the amazing sights along the way. First of these was another great waterfall, Dangar Falls, which looked fantastic in the early morning light. Next we drove through Dorrigo with its wonderful old buildings, later passed another waterfall that ran right under the highway, until finally we rolled into the town of Coffs Harbour, and just in time for lunch too!
There was a Sunday Market on near the harbour, selling craft items, flowers, plants, fruit & vegetables, among other things, and there was a couple singing under the shade of an awning... what a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. But we couldn’t stay too long to enjoy it as we had to get back on the road towards Ocean Shores. A while later we stopped off at a little community on the Clarence River called Chatsworth, with a general store, church, community hall and only about half a dozen houses, oh and a public loo, which was the reason for our visit there!!! It was quite a step back in time and one of the trees by the river’s edge had a sign on it which read "Tree of Knowlege, Wimmen Welcome, Husband’s Retreat" (their spelling, not mine!), and another was the Community Thong Tree, with loads of thongs (Australian for flip/flop) nailed to it, as well as at least one item of (naughty) underwear, it was all quite idyllic. On from here we took a very short break at Woodburn to check out the view down the river. It was another hour and a half before we reached Ocean Shores. Deidre welcomed us in and her dog, Della (Mk.II), was getting very excited, but was also very nervous, normal for Kelpies apparently. This is a great house with wonderful views right over to the ocean, yet another one we wouldn’t like to live in, no honestly, we wouldn’t. Hey, no, why is my nose growing longer...!!! Deidre had invited her friend, the lovely Julianne, over to meet us, and she prepared a great feast for us all of quiche, salad and enough barbie food to feed the whole street! We had a lovely evening, with the girls polishing off quite a bit of wine between them!!!
