We were all up at 7am for breakfast and our meeting for basic rules and what stuff we needed for the day. The guys we were going with today were the actual instructors for rafting/kayaking certification in North, Central, and South America so I felt pretty safe.
We went down a few different rapids starting with a few small ones and getting to a few that were massive so they made everyone get out just in front of them and hike around to see the rapid we were going to go down. They did this so people knew what they were getting themselves into and they had the option to withdraw for the rapid. A few people pulled out but most continued on. Our group went through without a hitch and it was sooo much fun. We had some lunch in a picnic area somewhere in between a few of the rapids. Delicious food! Mmmmm!
Once the day was over we all watched a video of the day and saw the photos. A few of us ordered one between us and i'm going to make copies for people when I get back. We all had a beer to officially end the day and headed back to the hostel where we had some dinner and hit the road to get to Madawaska.
During the day and dusk in Madawaska (Algonquin Park) blackflies and mosquitos are really intense. After being outside for about 1 minute you would have about 20 of them buzzing around you. It was hell! More details about all of this when I get back. Grr!
The hostel was great and outside was great after about 9pm - 10pm. We all sat around the campfire and had some marshmallows before heading to bed for some much needed sleep.
