the past month has basically been spent - give or take a few nights in town/wandering around the Pukekohe train station - here, at the farm, either 'on duty' working in the mornings, or taking some daytrips to the zoo (!!), local and not-so-local beaches, and driving around the area to do different errands. i quite enjoy those days, just driving around with Sarah and the kids, looking for a good way to spend the afternoon. it usually ends with a picnic on a beach somewhere... and really, who could complain about that?
i'm glad this is the way my trip worked out. getting a lot of good travelling in when i first got, especially doing some of that on my own, gave me time to take in what this country has to offer. and yes, i know i'm going to miss nearly everything. i had this thought yesterday of how odd it will seem to drive around Ontario again and not run into a massive lake or another side of the ocean around every turn. i know now that once i have the freedom - in my career and financially - to pick exactly where i want to 'settle down', there's going to have to be both water and mountains nearby. that's something i'm going to miss a great deal back home.
the next two weeks are really just about tieing up any loose ends i may have here; saying goodbye; and making a little bit more money to keep me going at home.
expect at least another entry before i leave NZ, and then who knows what during the hellish 3 full days of travelling i'm doing to get back home.
