Where I stayed

Yeah mun,

After 5 days in Jamaica I have heard this phrase a
million times. It can mean; hi, how are you, can i
help you, bye, ok, do you want some ganja, where is
the nearest toilet etc.

Every Jamaican comes up to you with a yeah man. They
are very chilled and relaxed and very friendly. Must
be due to the excessive amounts of weed they smoke.

We stayed at the amazing Rockhouse Hotel, on the
cliffs at Negril. An hour drive from the airport and
like nowhere else I have been. I cant say enough how
great it is so as Molly would say do yourself a favour
and check out

It is high up on the cliffs and there are places for
you to dive in to the warm Carribean Sea throughout
the hotel. Their pool is 60 foot up and hangs over the
edge of a cliff over the water and is spectacular.
From our room (a thatched African style hut with
mosquito net and outdoor shower) was a few metres walk
and a 50 foot cliff dive into the water where you could
snorkel. Amazing.

Each day I tested how high I would jump from whilst
Fee waited with a camera to record my prowess.
Unfortunately her reflexes are on the slow side of
Sloth so most photos just have a splash. On the 2nd
last day I jumped from to high (80 foot) and hurt my
shoulder which saw me miss the Carlton v Stkilda game.
I am a test for next week.

We only ventured from the hotel a few times as it was
so good. Once was to the beach (a 10 minute - $20 cab
ride away). It is 7 miles of white sand that you would
expect of the Caribeean but all the beach is owned by
the various hotels so if you aren't staying at one you
have to pay to lie there.

We did some snorkeling and I saw a most unusual
sight. We dived in and started snorkeling and I could
see four white cheeks floating metres away from me. AS
i swam towards them I could see they were attached to
some overweight American booty. Yep there were nude
snorkellers. As I spat out my snorkel with a scream of
"noooooooooooooooo" I looked up and saw a whole boat
full of fat nude people. Hundreds of them. And it
wasn't good nude. It was very bad nude. There are a few
nude resorts around and it seems that they have nude
snorkeling for them. I have never swum so fast to
shore before.

Jamaica looks similar to Africa in terms of housing
and road quality. Most locals live in houses that best
resemble beach boxes down on Brighton Beach, small
wooden boxes that are tiny. Though there are no
chimneys there is always a waft of smoke pouring out.
Daren Ganga.

We did do a day tour that took us to Mayfield Falls
which involved an hour river walk up the falls. Was
good fun and something completely different.

The only bummer was that every day at exactly 1pm it
rained until approximately 6pm. Like clockwork. This
meant time to watch the cricket with the locals and
impress them with my tales of climbing the scoreboard
in Barbados and being called an idiot on national TV
by David Hookes. Yeah man.

Well we are now in New York, at Michael and Jorges
place (from where I am typing) but to find out our
exciting NYC adventures stay tuned for EPisode 4 (The
Final One which features a cast reunion)
