Day 2 - We settled into Canberra with some grocery shopping in the morning then visited the Australian War Memorial in the afternoon. We had a good look around the War Memorial but there is so much to see that we could have spent a bit longer. The Last Post ceremony at 5 pm. was a highlight.
Day 3 - We drove up to Mt. Ainslie to take in the views of Canberra before heading to Parliament House. Today is the Federal election and if the polls are correct we will have a new Government and Prime Minster before the end of the day. We had a look around Parliament House before taking a drive around the area seeing some of the embassies and The Lodge (the removalists were parked out the front ready to go)
Day 4 and we woke up in Australia's Capital to a new Prime Minister Tony Abbott and a Coalition Government. Better news was that Port Adelaide had beaten Collingwood in the first of the elimination finals.
A sporty start to the day with a game of tennis and mini golf at the caravan park and dad was inspired to take us all to the Australian Institute of Sport for a look. We had a tour of the AIS conducted by one of the aspiring athletes. The kids particularly loved the interactive games area.
After the AIS we went for a look in the city, had lunch and Felicity did some shopping. We later had a walk along Lake Burley Griffin before returning to the caravan park.
