Arriving in Singapore was a total change from where we had been...we back to somewhere similat to Hong Kong and opther major cities. I quite like the feel singapore has, as it has lots of themed places and areas for drinking and partying, lots of shopping ( we have arrived in the great sale week which is a shame as we have no money to spend but there are lots of bargains to be had on everything here)
We are staying near Clarke Quay which is a party area but drinks here are soo expensive. My favourite bar so far has been the Clinic where you drink on wheelchairs and can have shots from syringes.
Sentosa Island is really cool..its a small island just off the harbour and had lots of attractions. We visited the half mermaid, half lion ( Merlion) which is a huge statue and then trekked up to Inderia point where you could Luge down ( half go kart, half toboggan or something)...unfortuantely we didnt have time for this as we were seeing the Songs of the Sea show. This was a light, fire, water and special effects show...it was all really good except for the cheesy actors and butlins feel they brought to it. There were some really good special effects such as a 3d fish and fire spewing out of the ground. The otehr good thingwas that it wasnt set in a theatre it was actaully on houses on stilts in the sea.
On our last day in singaproe we went to the zoo and night safari. I think this is my favourite zoo ever, the animals arent enclosed in the same way as they are at other zoos, they are just shut off by water or trees. In some areas they are free to roam around such as the orangatans boardwalk and the monkey areas. Theses areas were cool and the orangatans were lovely. We saw a huge snake that was the thickness of two of my legs..pretty amazing, other highlights were loads of animals we hadnt seen before and just the general feel of the area. The night safari starts at around 7pm and we went to the creatures of the night show which wasnt that exciting until a huge python escaped and was under some peoples seats!!! Pretty scary... the night safari was really interesting as we got to see the animals as we hadnt seen them before....
Anyway we are flying out to Bali tommorrow, so we best go pack
