Our trip to Beijing has finally come to and end, we leave tommorrow for the overnight train back to Hong Kong....

Over the last few days we have been really busy:

* The Olympic Stadiums- these are awesome buildings, the bubble building is my favourite especially when it is lit up with different colours ( green and dark blue) look best. Unfortunately they are still cordoned off to the public but they will definately be better than anything London buiolds for the 2012 olympics.

* Summer Palace- this is an hours bus ride away but for 30p you cant go wrong, although finding where to get the bus is more confusing than first imagined. When you arrive at Sumemr Palace though it is beautiful, it is set on a lake and the views are amazing, even on a dull wet day like yesterday when we went ---
---
. Our pictures wont do it justice. There is so much to do there you could spend all day but we did not have time. There are so many walks, temples and areas of interest. The only bad point is the hords of tourist groups all in either white, orange or red baseball caps!!!

* Acrobat Show- this was amazing, the things these children can do it ace to watch, we sat on the edge of your seat for most of the show, especially when a guy skipping over these moving rings slipped and nearly fell off. The girls can bend there bodies in ways that is really unsettling. There were amazing diablo scenes, cycling and my favourtite; the balancing act where a guy flips cups and spoons onto his head whilst balance on a board set on a roller on other people!!! We got a cheaper ticket here too as some guy that worked there bought them off a tour for alot cheaper...seemed a bit dodgy but saved us some money!!

* Peking Duck- we went for peking duck the other day at Quadaje Restaurant which was nice to start with, but not as we imagined...we thought it would be crispy, but it was actually really fatty...not as nice as we thought. There are waiters that carve your duck in front of you and then you get lots of pancakes, hoi sin sauce and sprin onions all for a mere 7 quid each. 1

We also got a pot of tea which seems neverending as the waiters constantly fill your teapot and your cups... was a good experience but i think we both prefer the crispy style to pure fat running down your throat. We both felt wuite sick afterwards !!!

I cant recall what else we have done from my memory now, but we extended our stay at the Red Latern Hostel as it is such a nice place, and i will be sad to not wake up to the chirping duckling every morning. We have not been affected by the earthquake that hit yesterday and didnt really feel it. Hopefully i will get our pictureson soon although there are tonnes of buildings which carig has taken.
