No matter how old you get, there is nothing like the comfort of your mom when you're sick.

I've been feeling run down and lethargic for several days. In the beginning, I thought my body was having a hard time adjusting to the daily physical activities. I didn't have any visible symptoms like congestion, coughing, headaches, etc. Just felt so tired. Then the owner of the dive shop told me there is a bug going around the island and many people have been getting sick. She suggested that I take a couple of days off to rest. Sweet. Thanks Sue!

Yesterday, I started feeling really weak and felt a fever coming on. I had no energy to do anything. I was in bed most of the day.
Jo was really sweet to check in with me throughout the day and brought me 3 kinds of juices to stay hydrated. Alex also brought back mint tea for me after dinner. Love my new friends ;)
I took Advil, layered clothes and bundled in a blanket and went to sleep.

I slept in this morning, and seem to feel a bit better. Still not feeling 100% but not as weak as I felt yesterday. It is so lonely to be sick and feel helpless on a remote island, and so far away from loved ones. These are the rare moments I really miss home, the comfort of my own bed, a big flat screen TV to keep me entertained for hours, mom to make me "okayu" (rice porridge), and my pup to cuddle up next to me....sigh.
But I still won't trade this life for anything ;)
