Flag of Thailand  , Ko Lanta,
Sunday, April 21, 2013

The weather in Kao Lak where I did my liveaboard, was terrible every day for 3 days.
It was gloomy, windy, and raining along the shore. When I told people I was heading to Koh Lanta, they all laughed and wished me luck. The monsoon season apparently drives tourists away between May - Oct. along the west coast of Thailand and it seemed that monsoon was already here a couple of hours north.
But except for the first day in Lanta, we have been SO fortunate with unbelievably fantastic weather. The sun makes everything so much better. The color of the ocean turns turquoise. The coconut juice tastes sweeter. The breakfast on the veranda overlooking the beach tastes yummier. And the beer! It's definitely better when it's sunny and hot out :)

I am typing this blog by an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. I can do without all the kids playing in the pool, but the view is unbelievable. The sun is beginning to set and it feels just perfect on my skin. I can just sit here forever.

Today me and K headed to Saladan Pier to do some souvenir shopping and walk around town. Lanta is has quite a large Muslim population. Unexpected and interesting....
