As soon as I arrived at the entrance gate, it was a complete mayhem. Bus loads of tourists. NOT my scene! I nearly turned around but decided to stick it out, being that this is a top Bangkok attraction and holds a historic value.

Having done my research prior to getting there, I dressed appropriately with a tshirt and Capri pants, making sure to cover my shoulders and knees. But once I got there, I was stopped and told to rent a skirt to cover my bottom legs. Apparently I was not covered enough. Ok, no problem. They had a dressing room and provided shirts/pants/skirts for inappropriately-dressed tourists.

Despite having to navigate through a sea of tourists, I was glad that I stuck it out once I entered the gates. This palace was definitely worth a visit.
The palace is HUGE. The structures were some of the most stunning architectures I had ever seen. It's almost like Disney World - it's so enormous you can only capture bits at a time, and no pictures can do justice to the grand scale of this palace - it's something you'd have to experience. After walking around for over an hour, I proceeded to follow the exit signs- only to be led into a whole another section of the palace. After viewing the second section, I again proceeded to the exit - and there was more! This place just didn't end.

I finally made it out, and I was exhausted. I had planned to visit another Wat, but I was hot, sweaty (did I mention how humid Bangkok is?!), and tired so I decided to head back to the air conditioned dorm of my guesthouse ;-p

I will soon head out again to explore more of cheap eats on the streets :-)
