A few months ago when I was still planning my trip to the Phils, I posted a question online on about some recommended diving destinations. This Aussie named John wrote me back, recommending Dumaguete, and telling me that he and his wife were actually heading down here in Jan and staying at Liquid. So after some research and contacting the resort, I decided to make this my first stop.
At the family dinner on my first night, I got to meet him and his wife and they are just the friendliest people you can meet. It's crazy to think people can meet online then meet in person across the planet and instantly become friends. This was a special moment.

Yesterday I did 3 dives in Apo Island. It was about 40 min boat ride and the dives were AMAZING. The coral life was nothing like I had ever seen. The varying colors, shapes, textures, sizes....some look like cactus underwater with spikes and porcupines. Some have jelly-like tentacles that allow small fish to seek refuge. Some look like a round Ritz cracker with round shape and edges all around it. These creatures/life are just crazy looking!!! I can focus on one coral and get fixated on it for hours studying its features. I also saw a huge turtle that must have been the biggest turtle I had seen so far. You just can never get tired of seeing turtles. They are so peaceful and mesmerizing.

People at Liquid are avid divers. Met a man who has over 1000 dives. Another man has over 7000 dives!! There are 2 girls staying here training to become dive instructors. One girl has been traveling around SE Asia for 3 months. Another one has been living in Phuket for 4 years. I think just about everyone here is a world traveller. It's nice to be in an environment where world traveling is the norm and not a crazy idea!

do these travelers have seasonal jobs or did they just jump into it like u did w/ savings?! please share how these guys make ends meet while traveling for months. i wanna hear their stories.

They all have different stories. The two men from Europe take frequent vacations or "holidays" as they call it and travel around the world. Sandra, a girl who just finished traveling for 4 months worked for one year and saved up. After her diving training here she plans to return and find work. . Another girl worked in Phuket for 4 yrs at a dive shop and and came here to finish her training.
People find ways that work for them and I say "where there is a will there is a way!"

SHIT! i had forgot about the guy I was supposed to meet at Liquid.. What.. OSHI??? !!!!!!! she is a stunning Asian female. I am thinking, you never told me your female. Hang on a minute, thats not what I had in my head.. You got to laugh at that. It was like, great friendship, yet thats what we seek. I met a friend, whom will be with me for life, and I thank that person for that. See ya soon Bro...
