We arrived into Rainbow beach and straight into our hostel Dingoes. This was our base for out trip to Fraser`s Island. We were picked into gangs of 11 for our Fraser Island trip. In our group there was 4 English, 3 Chinese, 1 Norwegian, 1 Argentinian and us 2. So we had a real mixed bag and it proved to be a recipe for success. We had a fantastic time on the island. Driving up the 75 mile beach to Indian head and then camping by the waves at night. On the first night we set up camp and then had a game of soccer and a game of cricket!!! Orla has a future in the cricket we think!!!!!!

That night we saw some dingoes, they came creeping in around our camp as we ate the dinner, but we ran them, and they didnt come back either.

Next day we went to lake Wabby and lake McKenzie. Without a doubt the highlight of Fraser island is lake McKenzie, its a beautiful place and luckily for us the weather was agreeable. The weather had been very patchy of late and we know some people who couldnt go out to the island at all becase the weather was so bad.

On the last day we went back out to lake McKenzie for another look, still fantastic.
Then back to the mainland, and gave back the jeep.

All in all though the trip was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
