Went to SAS (our inca trail organisers) and got some info regarding Wednesdays departure. then we headed off on our horseback ride around the city tour ruins of Cusco these include Saqsaywaman, Qènqo, Pukapukara and Tambomachay.   We got our horses, Orla got a lively one but the "donkey" that Kieran got would have been better placed in Liscarroll!!!!! He was dead on his legs in fairness to him. However we took off and went out to see the first 2 sight (Pukapukara and Tambomachay) had to park the horses about a 15 min walk away from the site (prob no insurance, we had no helmets or anything) so we went out onto the road and flagged down a bus, he took us there in 2 mins grand, then the heavens opened and we went running for a poncho. Saw Pukapukara then went across the road to look at the other one,Tambomachay, very impressive. Orla got a bit lost on the way out though and ended up doing a cliff hanger impression...the security guards whistling at her to get down, gas laugh... Then it got even better, out onto the road and flag down a bus to take us back to the horses A bit strange
A bit strange
. Grand job a bus pulls up, the bus was packed out, then they couldnt get the door to open, grand job we says "tear away, we'll get the next fella", no they persisted despite the line of cars behind beeping incessantly at us. Eventually the door was opened and we squeezed in. 2 minutes later we were at our stop, well the job we had to try and get them stop the bus.....every Spanish, English, French word we could think of for saying stop was used we nearly had to fall back on the ould Gaeilge!!!! After much smiling, and you-ll be alright kinda looks they got the idea and let us off the bus, Normally they let you off and then you pay for your journey, in this case they drove off while we were trying to pay, honestly they must have thought we were such pities, well did we laugh at ourselves for the next hour....it was some experience...... After that we went to see Qènqo,  then we went on to see Saqsaywaman (pronounced "sexy woman") and had a good look around, the stones here are absolutlely massive, you will see the scale of them in the photos. Then we got taxied back to Cusco and went for the lunch, nice one a 4 course dinner for 2 for 5 yo yos.... happy out.
