"Texas will again lift its head and stand among the nations. It ought to do so, for no country upon the globe can compare with it in natural advantages."
-Sam Houston, President of the Republic of Texas

Not the last day of the Road Scholar program but the last day for John and I. Kind of sad but it had been such a great time! And we would be leaving to be with our family and show off our precious grandchildren! Fortunately we were able to spend the morning with the group and our field trip to the Institute of Texas Cultures was fascinating! The Institute, which I will refer to as ITC from here on, showcases something like 28 different cultures which have influenced Texas history. There were several docents and each had their own area to describe. John really liked the chuckwagon guy.

Later we walked through Hemisfair Park to the trolley.

Lunch was at the Guenther House---bittersweet since it was a lovely place with tasty food but we had to say our farewells to the group. Later that afternoon we were winging our way to Huntsville, Alabama.
