The road from Fox Glacier to Wanaka is the most scenic of a drive I've seen so far. It is like a scenic rollercoaster with beach and cliff views waiting behind every turn. It took us 8.5 hours to cover the 300km, since we were making photo stops every 15 minutes or so. Well worth it though.
