Singapore reminds me of Las Vegas somehow. Everything is so new, perfectly clean and well organized -  it doesn't feel real. I only spent 3 days here, but it was plenty enough.
The most exciting part was meeting Nath's friend Farid, who was so super cool to show me around town, it was almost like being me in New York, showing the town to complete strangers that are friends of friendsJ No, really, I owe Farid (and Nath) one. We finished off pretty late in Clark Quay, the Grown Ups Disneyland. First mojito after 3 months!
Next day Vlad dragged me out on a hike in a nearby nature reserve, where I spotted some monkeys and fed them despite the warning signs (see pictures). In the evening, we went for a lovely dinner at Vlad's friends Brandy and Mike (I think). Unfortunately, towards the end of the night, and slightly under the influence, we some how ended up talking US politicks. The evening didn't end at a particularly friendly note with the Texans, who btw were perfectly lovely people, with a slightly different perspective on the world's affairs. Vlad almost left me there and ran away. I should have known better. Don't mess with Texas! I lived in the Mid West for two years, for Christ sake! Amin.
That's pretty much it. Ah, my birthday went quiet this year, so I'm afraid I'll have to celebrate turning 35 again next year.

Re: Glass and plastic ?
Maybe so, Alan, maybe so. But that was my experience and that's how it is going to stay in my memory and on my blog.

Thank you for your comment! It is good to hear about more interesting experiences.
