Well, after enduring some amazingly difficult and pervertedly intense 50 mile per hour winds, freezing cold weather, and then learning of the Gulf of Lyon French signature ´Mistral Winds´-- we decided to take a break and head east from Montpellier France, to Venice Italy, then Vienna Austria to home: a tiny village in southern Czech Republic. After 4 months of daily riding, it was a good time to take a break, plan to take all of February to see our family, and then re-start in March on STAGE TWO of the bike trip...

In the meantime, the Ocenas parents await us in Laziste, a beautiful small little village in the historic, scenic southern Czech mountains, near the Austrian border, nestled between rolling mountain hills and beautiful pastures and farm land. This part of the country is known for its´serenity, amazing outdoors features, and castle ruins. Tiny villages of 60 dot the winding roads. Everyone peeks out of their windows to see who the newcomers are. people wave. Village life sure os slower and gentler. We are looking forward to hot tea and home cooked meals. Weàe looking forward to catching our b¨reaths. reading. Thinking of what is next. 4 months of cycling, time for a break.
