onward to girona was interesting. the road wound into some low forest mountain hills, passing fields and fields of freshly tilled soil. beautiful farmland. pretty remote. amidst this, we began seeing dressed up, pretty saucy looking ladies here and there, at the edge of a forest, in a plastic chair. no houses nearby, nothing. sitting in plastic chairs in the middle of farm field roads, really- in the middle of nowhere. we were pretty puzzled, but later realized they were working.
girona- an old enat historic town, split by a river. tucked behind a high mountain, we thought we“d never lay eyes on it. because of its“tuck behind the mountain, the temperature dropped sevėrely. we found a nice campspot over a bridge, along the river, behind a fence, and behind a hospitaloe helicopter landing pad. no emergencies in the middle of the night though- so no helicopter action. in the morning, the sounds of a hot air baloon overhead woke us up. it was lovely. the tent was frozen and frosty.
