What I did
Harry Potter filming studio
Our third day in London, we got to tour the set for Harry Potter! This was really exciting for me because I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. Separate entry.
After leaving home, we started off our Europe tour with staying in London for a few days. We had already gone to London in the beginning of our trip for two days. We had taken the Big Bus tours, went to the Tower of London, ridden on the London Eye, and other things. Pretty much all of the main tourist attractions. The first time we went to London it was in the summer, but it was chilly, smoggy and rainy. This time we went to London it was in the winter, and it was freezing, smoggy and rainy. I like London a lot though. I think it is a beautiful city, with all of the old buildings, and I love the red telephone booths. And you can never go wrong with fish and chips. This time in London, we started off by going to the British Museum. It is a huge museum, definitely the biggest I've ever been to. It has subjects on basically everywhere in the world. Most of it is about ancient cultures, which I find fascinating. They had mummies from Egypt, one of them being Cleopatra! We saw the original Rosetta Stone. It is carved with two different languages: Egyptian and Greek. There are three different scripts used: Hieroglyphic (used for important and religious writing), Demotic (common script of Egypt), and Greek (the language of the rulers of Egypt during that time). There were lots of Roman statues and things from the Parthenon. The entire museum was just filled with exciting ancient objects. We actually spent two days there, but we barely got through any of it. There was so much to learn.
