Saturday 16/5 & Sunday 17/5  After last night's crap weather we were glad to have a little blue sky mixed with cloud and the occasional sprinkling.  The wind had subsided and it could clear up to be a good day.  We lazed about and took our time.  We took the tram from Brighton Rd (Glenelg) into the city for the day and got off at Rundle Mall.
We wandered along King William down to the park to look at the fountains then back up through to the opera house to Rundle Mall. The girls played with the four pigs - full size brass swine flue statues. Adelaide bronze pigs

Hungry we found a food mall.
The girls were keen to go into the SA Museum. Mostly Aboriginal exhibits and info but the upper levels had deep sea, an exquisite mineral display, Antarctic expeditions (Mawson), Flinders Ranges, Egyptian, animal, dinosaur and Pacific Island exhibits too.  Samantha did not realise what the mummies were, nor did we tell her.  It was also funny to see her reaction to the naked sculptures and the shrunken heads in the Papua New Guinea section.
The tram ride home was all the way to the end at Glenelg for a walk on the pier and an ice cream.  We'll stay in Adelaide another day just so we can look around a bit more.

We went to Glenelg by Tram on the Sunday, the shark exhibition had been moved 18mths earlier, but their was a small amusement gallery with the old wind up boxes that made objects move inside them.  We decided to go along the coast road, they were having a surf boat competition between some of the clubs.  It was really good to watch, and they were so fast, but the water was dead flat so I would hate to see how they coped with any surf.  Surf boat competition

After that we went to Port Adelaide to the Sea Horse Shop, where they have lots of different sea horses and tell you all about them, you were even able to pat a Port Jackson shark.  We then went to find lunch, unfortunately not many shops open other than the markets, but we eventually went to a greek restaurant and had fish and chips.  Kirstyn wanted to go back to the lighthouse and climb to the top which we did and Samantha wanted to go to the markets and see if she could get Justin (her doll) some new clothes.
