Well hello you lucky people, i say lucky because this is the first of my travel blogs that you are going to read.

Well i'm in Sydney after 21 hours on a plane, and of course i got the nice fat german man in front of me who had to have his chair back the whole journey, but i didn't care about that, because i was on my way to Australia!!!

When i arrived at the airport i promptly went to find a taxi, and even though the driver wasn't exactly sure where my hostel was i still got in and we drove in some random direction with him asking me if i had been there before....at this i became slightly worried with the thought of him taking me everywhere in Sydney racking up a mammoth bill before taking me to my hostels or worse the back street of somewhere where on my first night i would be mugged and left on the street. However as we left the airport i didn't really care because i saw the lights on the buildings and in much the fashion of a stupid, long eared dog I stuck my head out the window trying to take it all in!!!  IN the end the taxi got me to fletcher street, the road i was staying on and when it was clear he didn't know where to hostels was i got out and after 2 minutes of searching found the obviously signed hostel...i quickly learnt taxi drivers here are idiots.

After checking in and finding my room, which is right next to the top deck where i can get best spot to sunbath or just stand and watch the waves roll in as the sun comes up, i met my first room-mate, he is from chile who everyone call danny, so i followed suit and found out he is here for several months on a working holiday, we didn't talk much but he seems nice enough. Later just as i was about to go to sleep i met my other 2 room mates, these guys, tom and lewis, had been travelling for about 2 months and would turn out to be quite a laugh.

Well this is the end to my first evening in Sydney, so i'm off to sleep and i'll keep you informed. Lots of love to everyone back home (you know who you are) xxxx
