Oh wonderful sleep in. Due to people going trekking through the gorge at 8 Oliver had to be up at 6 to prep breakfast for 7. A delicious spread of sausages, eggs, baked beans and bread. Total treat.
Hearing Jamie wonder out the room just before 7 I thought momentarily about getting up but soon decided against it, opting instead to pull the covers up, roll over and welcome more sleep. Much to my surprise I soon heard footsteps coming in followed by "I bought you breakfast" oh bless. Oliver is good to me. So I tucked into breakfast then pulled the covers, rolled over and drifted back to sleep. A perfect start to the day.
Got up just before 9.30, did another tidy up of our storage locker then went for a walk through the gorge with Oliver, Rachel, Suzy, Sam, Kate (Mum) and Lindsay. Walked for about 2 hours which was nice, except Kate lost her newly bought scarf which was a bummer
Returned to the truck just before 1, had lunch and tried to bring my written diary up to date. The others returned about 1:30 all thrilled with the trek and having been invited to have tea with some nomads along the way.
We ended up leaving around 2ish. Stopped by in a little town to grab some provisions for tonight and tomorrow. Discovered some wonderful sweet and savory crepes so indulged in a few of those. Now back on the road driving till the sun goes down at which time we'll go off road in search of a place to pitch tents for the night. I wonder if we'll have some visitors tonight. Lets also hope my mattress is indeed as comfy as a bed!!
Tomorrow we arrive in Marrakesh. Yippeeeee
Continued ... few days later
We ended up encountering an endlessly built up area which meant by the time we reached vast flatness the sun had long ago sunk making it all the more difficult to pull off road and find a suitable camp site. Still Jay and Kate managed to do just that finding us a cozy spot on a patch of sand amongst rocks and prickly bushes. Perfecto.
We arrived to the sound of dogs barking and figures silhouetted in the distance but no one approached so we pitched tents, stoked the fire, cooked dinner, drank some wine and retired to bed before the night chill crept in... which of course it soon did.
Oh and yes my thermarest is indeed as comfy as a real bed... happy days!!

. Just basically followed the river, saw a couple of rock climbers - brilliant rock climbing area for all levels. Our walk was definitely a lot less strenuous then what the others were doing but that's just what we wanted. Returned to the truck just before 1, had lunch and tried to bring my written diary up to date.
