Pachamama Tours turned up for us right on time. 8am  - which at least was a more civilised start than some of the other trips we've taken. Again we were a real mix of nationalities on the tour. Our guide was Vincente and he spoke Spanish, Aymara and English. His English was excellent. He explained things really well and was an all round excellent guide.

It was a two hour drive out from La Paz. We had a couple of photo stops on the way for views of the snow covered mountains.

The ruins are entensive in that they cover a big area but there is not much left standing - especially of the pyramid. There is a kind of restoration going on but not sure how much that will add in the long run. But you get the idea of how big it must have been and the indoor museum is very thorough. To think that Lake Titicaca was that vast it reached this far! The subterranean temple is impressive with the carved faces that you see on all the post cards.

The good thing about all the tours we have done on this trip is that we have not been taken around any shops or artisans workrooms which happened a lot in India and China.

Ole was even allowed out and about to get his picture taken with the Sun Gate. (about time too)

After doing this tour we really felt like we had learned something. Well worth going to see.

Lunch was included as well, more llama and quinoa. Surprised there are any llamas left!

On return to La Paz dinner was at Cafe Luna again but this time don't think the food agreed with me. Didn't finish it anyway. Shame. Well it's back to Lima for us tomorrow.
