We were up and had our things on a trolly to be moved by 9:30, in our new cabin and unpacked by 10, and off the ship by 11.  Again, Bob and Carol had picked up a tour, and Michael and I were on our own.  We wandered around the port area and into a residential neighborhood nearby in search of a café with internet and a supermarket.  We found the café first, and I ordered Michael and I a beer and began to update our financial stuff (it was payday after all!) .  We payed bills, checked e-mail and uploaded photo's to the web site for  you, I drank another beer as Michael went to the supermarket across the street.  It takes time to upload photo's.  An hour or so later we were done, saying Bye Bye to the café Norland (no photo's were taken of our outing, hmm, are we tiring of picture taking?)

We headed towards a pharmacy since the market did not have stuff for athletes foot, which I have picked up aboard ship.  Funny thing is, I had the feeling I would That Dam Ship, the Eurodam!

.  Probably from the sauna. ah well.  Michael had picked up some detergent, or so he thought. He was commenting on it's pink color,a nd was pleased with himself for finding a small bottle, but when I looked at it, we determined it was fabric softener.  Sigh.  Poor Michael.
We bought our medicated lotion for my foot, some flowers for the cabin and headed back to the ship.

I have determined that 2 back to back cruises is, I don't know, interesting on turnover day I guess.  There is a whole new clueless crowd coming on board.  They are all excited, but lost.  I don't know how the crew does it.  Michael and I avoided them as best we could, but had to take care of a few things, like our photo's that are suppose to be attached to our key cards, we had to have them retaken.  And I had to change a tour so I could go with Michael and his parents instead of by myself (Ok, I gave in on the Wernermunde tour)

We did meet a couple of the new passengers while we waited in line, and we were having fun together.  We played scrabble until it was time for the life boat drill, then headed up on deck to go through the motions of the safety drill.

Michael totally pooped out in the cabin afterwards, falling fast asleep as I wrote until almost 6, for it was time to play cards again Happy drill!
Happy drill!
!  I am actually enjoying playing cards, and just hanging out with Carol and Bob as long as everyone stays mellow. Around 7 we were passing through a narrow straight with Sweden on one side, and Denmark on the other so we had to take photo's on deck, in the brisk breeze.  I thought Michael and Carol were going to turn blue!  I stopped in the shops, and all the Baltic logo merchandise was ˝ off, so shopping ensued, only I ended up not buying anything.  Carol yanked a t-shirt out my hand to pay for it and Michael wanted the same sweater I did, so I passed and let him get it.  They mean well, but I didn't really need any of the stuff anyways.

We cleaned up and dressed for dinner, I was going to pass on dinner, but the drama that would  have caused would have been worse than sitting though the meal.  We met for pre meal drinks in the Ocean Bar, and to discuss our next 10 days tours!  Dinner was light, I wasn't in the mood so I only had a crab and avocado appetizer and a chicken breast with potato's for dinner.  I passed on desert, opting for a martini in the Silk Den.  I was sad to learn that Zeni had transferred to the Amsterdam, another HAL ship.  I had known he from the Oosterdam, and enjoyed seeing her.  Michael and I gambled briefly, then back to the cabin for a good nights rest.  Well, I had hoped for a good nights rest, but we are now under the piano lounge.  There is nothing worse than a bad piano bar entertainer, except a very loud bad piano bar entertainer.  We tuned off the movie we were watching and I actually called to the front desk to complain about 10 minutes later.

HAL's record of making this an enjoyable trip is fading fast.  I will survive of course, and make the best of it, but this may be my last HAL cruise.  We shall see.
