Wow so Saturday turned out to be a very long day. We arrived by train around 3 or so in the afternoon and quickly found our hostel. We eventually figured out the bus and snuck on sans ticket to get to the tower. Pisa was amazing but a tiny town with not much else besides the tower and church. Being in Pisa really made me thankful that I'm not staying in a tourist town. Everyone here spoke English and huge tour groups congested all the sights. Anywho....we got there and immediately took the cheesy but mandatory tourist picture. Pure cheese:
We then paid to take a look inside the baptistery, the camposanto(a sort of graveyard) filled with sarcophagi and the famous tower. The baptistery and camposanto were both beautiful but the leaning tower definitely takes the cake. Just as we got to the top the sun was setting over Pisa. Sigh...so romantic! We all took in the view then made our way back to earth and found ourselves some dinner. Once full and happy we walked ourselves back to the hostel to get some sleep and prepare for Lucca!
