Where I stayed
Didja ever sit and watch a storm come over 14,000+ mountains heading straight for you? The wind is howling and we are starting to be pelted on our little warm and cozy rv. We are camped next to a lake, which now has whitecaps. We are getting the full experience of fall in Colorado. Aspens' leaves flutter like those signs with the little metal discs...know the ones?
I'm hoping for some snow. I want the full enchilada.
This morning, we hiked to an abondoned lake resort which is being restored. Colorado really knows how to give the tourists what we came for. I went in the original owner's house and climbed up steep stairs to the crow's nest. Well, Sadie was not about to let me go first, so she clawed her way to the top.
You can guess the next event...I judged that those same steps were possibly going to lead to a broker dog's leg on the way down, so I put her over my shoulder and held her with my left hand, while my right hand held on to anything I could to stabilize us. She was clawing each step as we descended safely. Whew!
