Gah I cannot stand this woman! The family is moving in September, which I think is stressing her out, and as a result she is more whiney than usual. I seem to be able to do very little right a the moment, especially towards the end of the day.
Aaand self-pity over. Today, as I predicted, was veg-cooking City. There were so many! I'm still not done, but I can't do anymore yet because I don't know how they ruin...i mean COOK their aubergines.
The day was pretty chilled. I made fish for lunch today and Liia was very complimentary about it (I know that contradicts my opening whinge, but that was the only positive thing she said to me today). In the afternoon Livia and Metta went to the museum, leaving me to look after Millo and his friend. They didn't really need me to do anything so I got to just sit in the playroom with them and practice my kickass hair dressing skills on a barbie. You'll all be excited to know that I can now do what is known as a waterfall plait on Barbie Rapunzel.
This evening, just as I put dinner in the oven, there was a powercut. This was because, in this house, if you have the washing machine on at the same time as the oven the power stops. And we did. So it did. Sigh! As both parents were out, Metta and I walked about for about 20 minutes in the pitch black before I finally found out what to do. Luckily I am an IB student and we're thinkers and risk-takers an' all that so I totally handled the challenge like a pro.
Anyway, the dinner was eventually cooked but, if I'm totally honest (actually, even if I'm only partially honest) it was fairly rubbish. It was this cauliflower thingy- because we seem to have most of the world's supply of it at the moment- and it was just kind of bland and maybe not cooked enough, but oh well. There's only a lot of it left...
Thus the day was pretty much concluded. I cannot believe it's Friday tomorrow. I may not love it here (could you tell?) but I do appreciate the fact that the weeks seem to go inordinately fast. Unfortunately, the months go proportionally slow (can someone explain to me how that works?). The rest of my time is going to be over before I know it!
