Today started humorously. I had been having a dream that someone asked what I did in my free time to which I responded "tackle hobbies" (which in itself is a bit random). My sister's flatmate then came over and said "more like tackle face pajamas". My obvious response was "what the hell are face pajamas" and then one of my friends popped in and, as if in response to my question, was wearing a fluffy blue and green striped balaclava. That's all humorous enough, but what's even better is I woke myself up by laughing at the whole scenario. The memory of it has kept me chuckling throughout the day too. (Just in case you were wondering, I told my sister's flatmate this and she did some research and, actually, this is what face pajamas are- ).
So, that was a good start to the day, and the day continued in a similarly pleasing way. I think this must hae been the universe's way of making up for the disaster that was yesterday. Millo and Livia were both sick today so it was just Metta, Maelys and I. Firstly we spent a delightful section of time listening to French pop and hip hop. Lovely. While doing this I was busy drawing a galaxy inside a fancy frame type thing (or, in French, voie lactée, though I think that actually means Milky Way) for a tattoo Maelys wants. That's right, I'm also a tattoo designer now. Amazingly, and completely against my expectations, it doesn't look too bad. This au pairing shindig may not be the most enjoyable experience of my life but it's certainly presenting a bucket load of new job opportunities for me to consider!
After lunch Maelys and I wanted to get out of the house and, because it was nice and sunny, we, plus Metta, went out for a walk around the town and took a bunch of photos of us posing like morons in different places. 'Cause we're cool like that, y'know... Still, despite getting a few strange looks from the locals it was most enjoyable, and to add the cherry to the top of a sundae of a day, we went home and made crepes. Om. Nom!
Now I am watching Barbar the elephant with Metta before Maelys and I go out. This is her last weekend here and, thus, potentially the last night I'll be going out. Better make the most of it!
