You know your life is dull when the most exciting thing about your day is that there is a celebration which has absolutely no relevance to you. Still, happy Valentine's all. Talking of a dull life, I'm stagnating here! That is why I have decided to make a list of places/ buildings I want to visit. As well as going to Rome and Florence (again) and potentially some other nearby places, I vow to try and go to don my tourist hat at least once a week and go and have a look-see at something cultural in Cortona. I'm sure I can find seen old buildings to look at. The place is overrun with them!
With this list in mind, today I strolled along to the Santa Maria Nuova. I was actually a little underwhelmed. It was quite nice outside, but nothing massively exciting. I couldn't get in, because the inside, glass doors were locked, but I peered in, and what I could see of it looked quite nice. I think the next place I will go will be The Church of San Francesco, for the sole reason that I believe the remains of a chappy named Signorelli are there. I'm getting my morbid on BIG time here.
This evening, after dinner, was spent watching kids TV on my laptop. Maelys introduced me to a confusing and slightly disturbing kids programme called Barbapapa and in return I told her as a child I watched Sesame Street. To my horror this statement was met with a blank look and something along the lines of "huh?". The children of France are sadly deprived of what is (was?) one of the great televisual creations of all time. So sad. Metta also introduced me to a new programme; My Little Pony. Excellent stuff. Totally absorbed both of us for about an hour and a half. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who's brain has liquidized and is no longer capable of complex thought.
To raise the intellectual bar I am working my way through all the Disney classics (What?! Anything is intellectually above My Little Pony, ok?). Tonight is the turn of Pinocchio (quite appropriate what with me being in Italy, and close to Florence and all) and so I will bid you toodlepip for tonight and go and relevate my IQ a notch.

The vegetable monster?! That is a crime against television!
