Now, before I start to regale you with the events of the day, a fun fact. Livia said today that she reckons the winter is over here! Having lived here for eight years and, thus, being fairly used to the weather patterns I am inclined to believe her. At least, I'm hoping to God she's right. End fun fact.
Ok, on with the day. The only fairly exciting thing that happened today was that Metta had a dance show at the Teatro Signorelli. The dances were interspersed with people singing, a costume parade by all the children of Cortona (because it's the last day of Carnivale today) and some random woman who came on stage and talked in between each act
This evening we played this weird French game where if you find this little figure in your slice of cake you become the "prince" and if you find the other you're the "princess" and have to...I mean get to wear a cardboard crown (made by yours truly). I'm not sure I really got the point of the game, but playing it meant i got to eat a generous amount of cake, so obviously I put my doubts aside and took one for the stomach. A "selfless soldier of the stomach" as some would say (Claire Ford).
Now, while skype-ing dear elder sister, she told me that a French person that she knows, speaks English with an Irish accent and thus says things such as "the third floor" as "the turd floor". My reaction to this was to laugh for an excessively long time, until there were genuine tears running down my face. Oh how my mighty sense of humor has fallen. This place has changed me. On the plus side, while showing me what an utter moron I have become over the last month, it also put me in a good mood and so I now feel I am positive enough that I can tackle tomorrow... how long after waking up that will last remains to be seen...
