Saturday. The end of my first week here. It was an alright day today. I had to take Fiammetta to dance for 11 and instead of going for a long, lonesome walk like last time, this time I read a book to fill the time. An English book I'm afraid to say, but as I'm already half the way through, and only a week through a three month job, I may have to plunge myself into some hardcore Italian literature too at some point.
It was snowing again today and after lunch Luca asked it I wanted to go on an "adventure" with him and Camillo. Now, being the highly intelligent person I am, I didn't think about the fact that this so called adventure would probably involve snow so I wore the most impractical shoes which were neither warm nor waterproof. Oh well, it was nice anyway. We went WAY up the mountain and there was lots of snow and trees and a bit of atmospheric mist. Excellent Christmas card material!
So, after about half an hour of that we came back, I defrosted my toes and Maelys (the other au pair) and me made pancakes for dinner.
All in all a delightful day.
P.s. fun fact. The snow here actually falls in snowflake shapes. It's awesome!
