Well! That was tiring! So first full day in Cortona, and in all honesty, I'm wiped! We started the day with a trip to the park, me, Jessica, six year old Filameta and three year old "fireman" Camillo. That was all good, though I did suffer a slight wave of nausea after I was forced into a spinning competition on the swings...
At about 11.30 both children complained of being hungry so we walked up to the pizzeria and I had my first bit of Italian pizza for this trip. You see I'm wasting no time in immersing myself in Italian culture!
We then made our way back home where Camillo thought it would be an awesome idea for him and me to spend about two hours playing with his toy cars. Not the most exciting way to spend my life but on the plus side I DID teach him the word "crash!" I tell you, he is going to be a terrifying driver if his toy car skills are anything to go by
The big event of today was that we went to the circus! My very first time at one and I feel now I have completed a vital part of my childhood, albeit a few years late. My favorite bit was when they got three camels to gallop around the ring a few times. I kid you not. There were actually camels, as well as an ostrich, a bison, and a whole hoard of snakes. I almost felt as if I'd gone to my first zoo as well. The children seemed to enjoy it as well but I feel it was me who benefited from it the most!
I am now off to experience an Italian pub thang with Jessica so that'll be interesting.
I'll tell you a little more about the family tomorrow when I have more time
