Where I stayed
We stayed in an amazing hostel while we were in Vienna that was really just an apartment with two dorm rooms coming off a communal area. Fully decked out with 3 or 4 notebook computers, a kitchen with staples for cooking, plus breakfast included. We met a crazy Polish guy who took amazing photos, a Brazilian dermatologist and a German who walked around topless everywhere.
Schonbrunn Palace, was pretty sweet for a summer pad. We were so worn out by the heat that we thought we had gone soft till we found out it was 41 degrees that day.
We felt we ought to go to a trafditional Kaffe haus, but it was virtually empty due to the heat. The Kunsthistorisches museum, created by emperor Franz Joseph to house the Habsburgs art and ancient objects collection, was airconditioned first and foremost. The building itself was truly impressive, designed to match the collections to be housed there. Full of masive marble pillars and murals painted by Klimt amongst others, in addition to vast amounts of material and exihibits that you couldnt hope to see in one day.
