Where I stayed
Our day started at 8:30 am with a pancake breakfast provided by our hostel (they supplied the ingredients, I supplied the labor and awesomeness). Our checkout time was 10, so we promptly packed all our supplies back into our house on wheels and returned our key to the friendly hostel owner. We made our way north on 101 once again.
After about 2 hours of the license plate game and attempts at tying actors to movies (aka the Movie Game), we arrived at our first pit stop - Shelton, WA. To most, Shelton wouldn't seem like much of a destination, nor worth an hour detour, but this was the home of a longtime childhood friend and 2nd mother to me, Carol. She was the woman that when times got rough, would come running to my aid
We arrived in Tukwila where our hotel was located. First we were blown away by the marble floors, high ceilings and elegant music playing in the front lobby. However, when we went to the front desk and gave the gentleman our last name, he politely said he didn’t have us in his reservations. Sadly, unbeknownst to us there were 2 Courtyards within a 2 block radius. We had inadvertently checked into the Southcenter location, where although less elegant, was equally as accommodating. Tired and hungry, we dropped our bags and decided the only place for us was Seattle
After V Bar and scoping out the territory, we made our way back to the hotel, took a small dip in the pool/spa, and laid our weary heads to rest, until the next day when our real adventure began.
- This was supposed to be "Just a Blurb…" as the title hints at, however, I have learned Nate is not short winded when it comes to story telling about our day. So you get all the great details about our day on the road :o) At least its told in an engaging way!!
- The mosquito bite on my nose is coming along quite nicely. It’s a nice large, red bump RIGHT smack dab in the middle of my nose.
- Our drive seems to just keep getting prettier. I know at some point it’ll get to a boring, somewhat ugly stretch, but for now everyday seems to be GORGEOUS! Loving it.
