So Jaisalmer was a success, as we were all able to start enjoying the trip instead of worrying about who would wake up sick. I remember lying down for bed on our first night there and deciding I was finally in a healthy travel mode. I was now ready for the bruises of travel and it felt great. There's a certain amount of flexibility that is needed to travel, and my 33 year old body was nowhere near ready for this trip. I required some serious fucking stretching out.

This morning we headed to Jodpur, which is another successful destination. Just outside of the city we stopped at the HUGE Mehrangarh Fort and spent a few hours wandering through the various rooms which were all ten times more interesting than any of the previous forts we've visited so far. Absolutely incredible.

On the car ride down our driver Mr. Singh had persuaded us to spend one less night here and add an extra night in Pushkar, which sounded fine until we arrived at our beautiful hotel (located right in the middle of the city for once) and thought maybe we had made the wrong decision. But after wandering through the square which is basically one huge bazaar (I bought some horrid cassette tapes and a headless bride and groom statue for ten rupees each!) we quickly realized that there wasn’t much more to do. Still, the city is beautiful and dinner on the hotel’s rooftop was divine. This is such a beautiful city compared to what we have seen in Rajathstan so far.
