Devils Tower from the town of Devils Tower

We crossed the NE corner of Wyoming to get to Montana. Just a few miles into Wyoming after leaving Mt Rushmore is Devils Tower. This site was used in some movie a while back where there was a very large gorilla climbing up this huge rock. It is truly "HUGE". And it is right in the middle of some small hills. How is got there and why it is there is an interesting story. You cannot appreciate the size from pictures.


Look for the Climbers at the Arrows

The only way for me to try to show the size is with the picture of people doing a 'rock climb'. Take a good look - there are 2 groups of climbers in the picture. I put arrows on the picture to help you spot them. There are some 100 pathways to climb and over 1000 people per year climb to the top.


Bell Nob Golf Course

We stopped in Gillette to play a round of golf at Bell Nob Golf Course. Not a tree in direct play the whole course. Quite barren and a few hills. One of the "nobs" had a big liberty-type bell hanging - so the name.


Pronghorn Antelope

The only thing that bothered us was all the pronghorn antelope. The picture shows the one standing directly in my line to the green - just looking at me. We had to chase some away that were lying down on our tee - so we could play.

Now on to Montana and Glacier National Park.
