Nathan here: we thought it would never happen but we're putting a short entry together and we've no pics for the album. Well, none that we could upload at any rate. It has been a somewhat lazy week with an agenda filled primarily with diving.

Should mention that Tara's asleep upstairs so I'm free to write what I want. So without delay I want to mention that she was a touch sick at the beginning of the week so she's now comfortably leading the "who's puked the most" contest. In fact, I've yet to score but we've got another five months to go...

We've spent a portion of the week completing our PADI Rescue Diver course and it's been a lot of fun. Highly recommend it for those who dive. We especially enjoyed the in-pool exercises where Tara confirmed that you can in fact use scuba gear while wearing sunglasses on your head. We're still not slowing down when it comes to diving. Although we've completed 25 dives to date, we have another 18 in the next six days.

Tomorrow morning we leave for a 3 night, four day liveaboard to the Surin Islands. We're told that we'll be extremely unlucky if we don't see some big fish like whale sharks and manta rays. Also a good chance to see some seahorses and other gems. Hopefully I haven't jinxed ourselves.. We then come back in time for the weekend where we'll finish off the rescue course with a few more dives.

Sad to say that we have finally booked onward travel from Thailand. Our visa was going to epire while on the liveaboard so we met with immigration this morning and they agreed to extend our visas for another 7 days but that was the max so we'll be leaving for KL on March 23rd. This puts us within jumping distance of Singapore where we eagerly await the arrival of our friend Cecilia from back home on the 26th.

Want to leave with one final anecdote concerning our navigational abilities. We left our guest house looking for an aquarium the other day and we drove in the opposite direction for about an hour in the super hot sun before realizing that we had no idea where we were going. Nope, we didn't have a map but we thought we had previously seen a sign... Took even more time to find someone who spoke English to point us in the right direction, which was back toward our guest house. Another 45 minutes later and we're back where we started only to learn that the auquarium was a mere ten minute drive away. Not our finest hour for sure. I chalk it up to dehydration.

Final word. Couldn't help but notice that Ottawa is currently in the plus right now weather wise. We still have about 30 degress on you - sorry about that.

That's all for now folks. N & T.
