The afternoon session went well too. Tuyen had left and the teachers, Dung had to teach Form 1 and 2 their regular lessons. Luan had to dive in and take the lead with the laptops. Neither Dung nor Luan had used an XO before the preceding day. But after seeing how quickly the children learned to use the XOs, they both gained more confidence.

The XO has a built in Library Screen. Use the Browse Activity to find it. Under the tab "Other" there are World Maps. The map of Asia can be zoomed to show a closeup of Vietnam. Now the Vong Vieng Village School has an Atlas!

We put the kids on the map. It was very exciting. The photos tell all.

We discovered that one XO was missing the Browse Icon. I took that one back to Hong Gai to try and fix it. If anyone reading this has encountered this quirky problem, please help!

Soon school ended. Some kids piled into their boats. Check out the photos of Nga bailing her boat. It is incredulous to me the responsiblity the kids are given on the water. Clearly, they have earned it too.

Some kids were running back and forth across the narrow maze of connecting docks. Noisy too. Then I realized, wow. The VVV children don't have any place to run. There are no football (soccer) fields, no gymnasiums, and no streets to ride bikes or skateboard on. How different the children's lives are out here! Richer in some ways, but definitely very different.
