Grand Palace, Bangkok

We spent today visiting the famous Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, in Bangkok.  This famous Temple, situated within the Grand Palace complex, is the most sacred Buddhist site in Thailand and contains some of the most stunning and exotic architecture in all of Southeast Asia.

Noah, Sumalai and her parents, Mark and I, traveled by Thai commuter boat to the Palace.  With Sumalai as our very proficient English speaking guide, we learned through exquisite frescoes about the Hindu legend of the Monkey God, Hanuman defeating the evil Green God.

I might mention that the weather is warm and humid and Mark and I especially enjoy returning to the lovely Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa for a relaxing dip in the pool, after long busy days.
