Robin and I hung out the whole weekend. We opted to stay in most of it, due in good part to the terrorist blasts. We did venture out for church (see other posting), but otherwise rented a lot of movies and were otherwise silly and lazy!

On Saturday, we went to South Ex to walk around and shop a little, and we had gohl guppa and aloo chaat from a street vendor. It's hard to describe gohl guppas, so I won't try. The aloo chaat were basically fried potatoes seasoned with lots of spices. Good, but spicy! After telling some people at work about eating these things, I was told I was quite brave and had graduated to a new level of the Indian culture... Evidently many "visitors" don't venture out that much!

While we were at South Ex, buying gifts for Siju (who just had a baby and was having a party that night), I started getting calls about the terrorist bombings around Delhi. Several markets were bombed and about 50 people died. One of the markets was one I had planned to go to that day, even. We didn't realize how bad it was at first, and thought we'd go ahead to Siju's, but after multiple calls from worried coworkers, we realized we should head back to the hotel. We stopped for some bootlegged copies of DVDs, rented a player from the hotel, and watched Pirates of the Carribean and The Village - 2 of my favorites!

The rest of the weekend was great as well. Because of the attacks, we stayed in mostly, but it was nice to just relax for awhile!
