We arrived at our guesthouse a day earlier than we had booked as we stayed on our bus rather than getting off halfway to spend the night. We were shattered after 13hrs on the bus and of the never-ending Cambodian comedy, music videos and kung-fu films which are played really loudly on all of the buses in Cambodia! But our guesthouse was great (probably the nicest people we've ever met) and made us feel very welcome.

The next day we thought we deserved some back pampering after 13hrs on bus seats so we went for a massage having had a good nights sleep and a decent breakfast. After this, we decided to chill out at the hotel around the corner from our guesthouse, and use their swimming pool in return for us buying lunch there. It was such a lovely relaxing day!

Our guesthouse had arranged for us to be picked up by a tuk-tuk at 5am the next day to see Angkor Wat in all its sunrise glory. It was beautiful despite the hordes of other tourists there! We wandered around the Wat and then ate our breakfast on one of the walls (our guesthouse had given us a boiled egg, 4 pieces of bread, jam, two bananas and water - much better then anything you could pick up at Angkor)!

We then went to several other Wats around the area and climbed lots and lots of steps throughout the day. The Wats were all different and interesting, particularly the intricate details in the stone which have survived almost 1000 years.

Our favourite part of the day was going to Ta Prohm which is the temple that was used in one of the Tomb Raider films as well as, 'Two Brothers,' a film about two tiger cubs. It had been left mostly to the elements and the photos speak for themselves! Feeling tired after 9hrs wandering around temples and getting up at 5am, we both had a couple of hours kip in the afternoon.

We booked a bus to Battambang for the next day.
