next day i headed out to Pompei which was really kewl! the entire village was buried after a valcano errupted adn buried it in ash... the streets, buildings, large thater buildings, everything !, is very much intact... they even had casts of the people who were buried alive and suffocated, i know its sad, but its quite fascinating... all of their tools, pots, utensils were all preserved... it was pretty wikked!
much of my time was not actually spent in naples itself unfortunately... first nite there was this party going on at the hostel, i figured, great way to meet all the people staying there... well, it turned out being a fancy arts& media show and it was all people from outside the hostel... and very upscale and posh people... so much for meeting anyone... but next day i met a few people in the morning and joined them going out to Capri... its damn expensive but beautiful... we had lunch and got a boat tour that went around the entire island which has some amaying scenery... lots of little grottos and kewl rock faces... the water was super choppy... not the kind you wan to be out on a kayak in, thats for sure!!! we made a stop at the infamous blue grotto... we had to wait a while to get in, but it was awesome... you get into these 4 person (plus sailor) row boats and they row you into the grotto and take you around whilst they sing... its fairly small and you're only in there for about 2 minutes, but its incredible!! the water as you enter looks like its glowing blue.. once again, i hope my pics do it justice! that nite we just chilled around the hostel listening to some tunes...
