this city is great... there is tons to see and do here all nicely laid out so its not overly congested... i managed to take a really posh bus here from bratislava, travelling in comfort always puts me in a good mood!! and i was impressed at how easy i was able to manoever the city... once again making me happy instead of frustrated... im staying at this wonderful little hostel that feels like a home... the rooms are small and the kitchen has those little touches that make it feel very welcome... everyone has been super friendly and helpful... they have girl who is on cal to come in and do massages... one of the staff members called her to come out and ask if we wanted in on it.. less than 15 dollars for a proffesional half hour massage... after 6 months of backpacking, thats exactly what i needed!! i feel great...
first day i got in early in the afternoon and walked around a little bit, saw one of the smaller castles and a beautiful park near the zoo.. chain bridge

. as i was walking through i saw groups of older men playing chess, it was so cute... and a pingpong able in the park... brilliant!!! the next day was full of walking and taking in the sights and sounds... found a little kitten to play with for a while... i was tempted to take her with me, but could you imagine backpacking with a kitten! yeah right.. besides, im sure her owners were desperately looking for her... i went up to the castle and walked through the labrynth under the castle district... that was really cool... hiked up to the citadella and had lunch up there with a gorgeous view of the city... walked up a few church towers once again for a wikked view of budapest... the House of Terror in Budapest is a wikked museum that documnents the nazi occupations and soviet occupation in the country... it was a wonderfully high tech and captivating experience... after that we walked to this little island a little north of the center where its mostly parkland and theres even a petting zoo... it was a good day for a walk... the rain held off and it was fairly warm... all the rain came down on me once i took a day trip out to Eger the next day... it is a large wine region famous for the Egri Bikaver (bulls blood)... delicious... tons of wine cellers just begging you to come try their stuff... after sampling a few i bought a 1,5 L for maybe 4 dollars... cant complain about the prices, thats for sure...
off to Romania on the nite train tonite... Transylvania here i come!!!
