i have to say, i was definetely more impressed with krakow than warsaw. a bit more character and liveliness... something was going on in the main square every nite... from theater to music to just plain festivities... i walked around the barbican (old city walls) and up a few towers... it was nice strolling through the city streets looking in some of the shops and the market in the square had some amazing artisans and crafts...
i took a day trip tour out to see Auschwitz.... having seen dachau already made it a little easier to handle... it was obviously a more extreme concentration camp but the general feel is the same, very cold and heavy on the heart.. i did it with a tour and unfortunately we weren't able to walk freely and see the different exhibits or take the time to read the different placards... we had to stay with the tour and hear them tell it...
