Kölner Dom

we climbed the tower to the top of the Dom yesturday... what an amazing climb and view! and the cathedral itself was spectacular... it was started in 1248, not sure when it was completed, and thankfully it was spared in the bombings during the war... it is absolutely breathtaking... my ankle is still swollen, but considering i was able to climb the tower, i figure its not seriously hurt... today i think we are going to the botanical gardens outside the city, and maybe the zoo... tomorrow i'm taking a boat down the Rhein to Mainz and stay in Frankfurt for a few days...
