Pysayttavaa, todellakin... Keltahattusille painotetaan siis jo koulusta pitaen miten tarkeeta rauha on ja Japani on aikoinaan sulkenut kaikki ydinreaktorinsa ja lopettanu ydinaseiden valmistamisen omasta tahdostaan.
Iloisempiin asioihin palataan..kaupunki itessaan on aika viehattava, kanaaleja taynna ja paljon vihreeta. Tanaan viela kaydaan syomassa Okonomiyakia mihin ihastuttiin eilen illalla.

Finally made it to translate the previous entry. So Hiroshima, which was one of my pinpoints in Lonely Planet. And the city was impressive, or more likely how it recovered from all the disaster. I could`ve not tell the city`s been bombed back in the 40s, the only mark of it is the A-Bomb-Dome, which used to be a landmark of that decade, designed by an European architecture. I cannot recall what was building for, something to do with business anyhow. The building was a wreck and you could also see the pics of the area before and after the bomb. The bomb was released just above the building you see. But imagine people, the whole area from the hypocentre around two kilometers was destroyed!
The worst and best thing (if one can say so) was the Hiroshima A-Bomb Museum. Quite heavy stuff there...some ripped and bloody clothes of victims (lot of children) explaining where they were at the time and what happened to them afterwards. Accessories with notes explaining the same things. Pictures of the destroyed areas, buildings, ppl. AND skin and nails of some of the deceased..due to the high radiation level.. I must say, the museum sure did enhance my anti-war/weapon attitude.
We stayed in there for two hours and even that wasnt enough to see everything. Lot of school children too, no wonder they always have the peace sign-fingers ready for pics. ;)
Back to nicer things we found in Hiroshima. The city is beautiful with canals, lot of green beside them. I recommend it!
And we really fancy the local(?) food okonomiyaki. Its this tortilla/pizza thing they prepare and add veggies and meat on the top of it. After that they add noodles on the top of the veggies and to finish it they spice it up and add an fried egg on the top of it with their special brownish, sort of soy sauce. MMMMM...its delicious.
Next few days in Beppu town..

A-Bomb-Dome, Hiroshima
