Helou,
Joten bussissa istuttiin kohti Labuangia, tai niin me viela luultiin. Neljan tunnin matkan jalkeen saavuttiin johonkin kaupunkiin ja suostutaan maksamaan bemo kuskille 50 000rupiaa etta meiat viedaan Caritalle, joka LP:n mukaan on 6kilometrin paassa. Tosin kuski ei nayta tietavan missa kyseinen ranta on eika kaks muuta matkustajaakaan, matka kuitenkin jatkuu rantaa pitkin... Noin kuuden kilometrin jalkeen kuski ja paikalliset arvuuttelee yha missa ko.ranta on ja nahaan ainoot lansimaalaiset tien vieressa surffilautojensa kanssa odottamassa bemoa. Raffi kysyy niilta missa Carita on ja selviaa et me ollaan Belabuhanratussa mika on enemmankin etela-Jaavalla ja neljan tunnin ajomatkan paassa Caritasta. Me jaadaan kyydista siina ja yks surffarikundi puhuu bemokuskille bahasaks ettei me makseta 50 000rp kun normaalisti kyyti siihen asti maksais jonkun 4000rp/hlo. Pienen taistelun jalkeen me suostutaan antaa se 5-kymppia et matka jatkuu kaikilla johonkin suuntaan.
Seuraavama aamuna me lahettiin takaspain Pelabuhanratuun ja sen tien varrella ma nain jonkun hienon hotellin uima-altaineen johon me paatettiin menna pariks seuraavaks yoks.
Indonesia, no, se on seka etta-maa.
Palataan taas Filippiineilta. Stop.

Hellou,
So we were sitting on a bus on our way to Labuang, or so we thought. After four hours we were in a town and agreed to pay bemo driver 50 000rp if he'll take us to Carita. (still thinking it's 6kms from the centre) Although it started to look like the driver did have no clue where this Carita is, neither had the two local passengers. That's weird we thought, even people in Bandung knew the place why not locals!? The ride went on though netx to shore, and after 6kms or so we saw the only Western people around, carrying surboards next to road and waiting for bemo. Raffi asked them about Carita and the guy laughed it's 4hrs ride to west from there and we were in southwest coast in a town called Pelabuhanratu! We got off and the same surfer guy told in bahasa to the driver we don't pay 50 000rp for the drive (the guy told us it was more like 4000rp each to that point we were now) but the driver was stubborn and we let him go with our fifty, exhausted.
So there we were, in a small town, not where we thought we were. We have no information on the town, it's bloody hot and we were prepared to splurge the final days.
I can tell you I was grumpy as what at that point and Raffi received his share of my mood.. We walked half an hour or more, backpack was heavier than ever leaving my shoulders numb and sun was roasting my skin. We had small verbal battle before we agreed on taking a bemo to the next hotel on the road. And we were not gonna be ripped off this time. And so the next inn we spent the night in. There were no other guests and only one resto nearby, plus we had to pay more than in many previous places for much less.
The next morning that was it, we took bemo back to the town and got off at a hotel I spotted on the way yesterday, wtih pool and all. Bauy Amrta was very nice hotel on a cliff next to sea. And there we stayed for the last two nights in Indonesia. We had very nice room, not the cheapest but not the most luxurious either. Two days went by by watching telly, eating and sleeping. The restaurant was very romantic and staff in the hotel were nice. Great ending to the vacation in Indonesia except we got food poisoning or diarrhoea the last day. Both had small fever, felt nausea and toilet was in use. And we were suppose to get to Jakarta Airport the next day. It was quite a trip first back to Bogor and then to airport but we survived. I nearly did vomit in the airport bus though ;)
Indonesia, well, I would say it's a country of opposites. Lot of good and lot of negative. The gap between rich and poor is very obvious and sad. Lot of homeless people. The cities (also smaller ones) are often very dirty and you miss hygienia. And besides, even though it's somehow understandable, I hate the fact many see Western as a symbol to money and try to rip you off.
On the other hand not clearly all of them are like that and we met many many local people who were just wonderful: chatty, friendly, funny etc. The scenery is great, beautiiful landscapes, nature. And they really nurture their culture, more than I believe we do. And plus, Indonesian men are rather handsome ;D
Bali and Java however are like two different worlds and I think it was priviledge to see Java which isn't as touristy as Bali.
Get back to you from the Philippines. Full stop. ;)

Pelubahanratu
Seuraavama aamuna me lahettiin takaspain Pelabuhanratuun ja sen tien varrella ma nain jonkun hienon hotellin uima-altaineen johon me paatettiin menna pariks seuraavaks yoks.

Waves crashing
Now all we saw was few cheapies. The surfer mentioned there were more medium priced places in the west and we headed off west believing they were close enough. I can tell you I was grumpy as what at that point and Raffi received his share of my mood..
