We had a good nights sleep and headed off to our first day in Disneyland - and we were given badges to let everyone know it was our first visit (30-something years ago and Disney World don't count).

Everyone was very excited as you can imagine.

We started our day by getting some autograph books, which came in handy soon when we came across Donald Duck.

Our first ride was on the train that goes around the park to get a look at the lay of the land.

We then wandered down Main Street and were lucky enough to arrive at the Princess Castle just before a show began out the front with the Disney band and a number of characters singing and dancing. Well, you know, not all the characters actually sing . . . But they do dance. It was a great early experience for the day.

Disneyland makes me smile !

Then into the castle and a photo op with the The Queen from Snow White - Rob loves a spirited woman! She wasn't happy when she saw Alice's princess autograph book, she doesn't like princesses she said and then crossed the pic of the princess out on the page. Haha

Then a look into the Bibbiddy Bobbiddy Beauty Salon where little princesses can go to have their choice of princess-like hairstyle. This was a little reminiscent of American Doll, but with real children! They all seemed to have the appropriate outfits on - amazing! Sorry no photos, as I don't think the doting parents would be too keen to have snaps of their little dears taken.

We then went on the Snow White Scary ride. It was a little - or so the girls said!

Of course we had to do the teacup ride. A look through the Mad Hatters shop and a bit of a try on.

Story book ride, where Al and Dec were told - legs cross, apple sauce - with the accent it rhymed!

We then knocked off two iconic rides - the Matterhorn and It's a Small World. I was a little put out in the latter at fist as it's in Christmas mode at the moment and it seemed like there would be no normal, world stuff, but thankfully there was. The song was diluted by Christmas songs though, so it wasn't as brainwashing as usual.

We had a go on the Peter Pan ride which was fun and then off to Toon Town.

We met Micky and Minnie, had a ride on Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin and the Gadget go coaster.

We finished the day in Tomorrowland by going on Autopia. Note sure what the attraction is, but the kids like it as they get to steer a car.

We walked back down Main Street as everyone, it seems, was preparing to watch the parade.

But we couldn't stay as we were off to see the Anaheim Ducks and the LA Kings ice hockey teams slug it out - or rather, the spectators as it turned out!

Very entertaining evening and the game was good too!
