Traveling through Arizona then into Nevada there were heaps of jets flying over the deserts. They must use it for training cause there is a continuous criss-cross of smoke clouds.
The Hoover Dam was pretty impressive. Really freaky looking down into the dam though. The tours were cancelled because the lifts into the dam were being repaired. We were able to walk across the dam and watch a PowerPoint show. We just did the walk.
Then we went looking for Area 51 to see if we could find a few aliens, but we didn't find Area 51 or any aliens
It was on to Las Vegas. Again Robin and Regan did a great job of driving/navigating.
As soon as we hit the strip the kids had their phones out taking pictures. There were some amazing hotels. Th pictures will tell the story. Words don't explain the flash and OTT casinos/hotels.
We're staying at Planet Hollywood. It's a huge complex with its own shopping complex and restaurants.
We booked tickets to Cirque de Sole Le Reve for friday night.
We went to lunch at BurGR. It's Gordon Ramsay's new burger restaurant. Great burgers; best we've had so far.
We then went for a walk Down the strip. We passed all the great hotels; Caesars Palace, Eiffel Tower, Pink Flamingo, etc. We wandered through the shopping complex at Caesars Palace. It's beautiful!
And it's really hot here! We've gone from below freezing to 20c today. We're all needing some lighter clothing, although there are people walking around with scarves and coats.
